New technologies are having a big impact on the teaching and learning of mathematics. Choosing educationally appropriate technology for a classroom, however, requires sound judgment based on specific criteria. This article addresses benefits as well as problems introduced by technology as well as factors that should be considered when selecting technology to support math instruction.
